I had a great experience with Dr. Bellorin. I’m 3 weeks post-op and have already lost 24 lbs (starting weight: 261). While I know a lot of that is water weight, I’m feeling great overall. The liquid-only phases of the diet were tough, but the craziest thing has been the complete elimination of my hunger. Portion control and mindless grazing used to be my biggest challenges, and this surgery has been a total game changer. What makes me happiest is that I haven’t had any of the complications I’ve seen others mention—no constant nausea, no difficulty drinking water, no “only warm liquids” problem. My recovery was fast and smooth. I honestly think part of my good outcome is due to having had a skilled surgeon, which Dr. Bellorin absolutely is. Tomorrow I start soft solids, and while the portions are tiny, I’m excited. It’s funny how something as simple as string cheese with turkey feels like a big breakthrough! I’ve even started cooking (something I never did before), experimenting with beans, lean meats, eggs, and creative seasonings. Overall, I feel optimistic. I know I can reach under 200 lbs—and maybe even 185. I’ve been able to tolerate foods like eggs early on (day 8!), which has made the transition easier. If you’re considering surgery, I truly believe SG is a life-changing reset—especially if your goal is to banish physical hunger and regain control over portions. Dr. Bellorin made that possible for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
