Dr. Spencer Holover is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric weight loss procedures. Dr. Holover attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine, before completing a residency in general surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

From my first appointment through surgery, every single person I interacted with at NYBG was professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Dr. Spencer Holover, the physician assistants, Ms. Gouin (Patient Care), nutritionist Sharon George, and the receptionists all provided excellent support. The PAs worked closely with Dr. Holover to answer any questions I had—of which there were many—and he always responded quickly to my emails when I wasn’t in the office. Dr. Holover is not only an expert surgeon but also has a compassionate bedside manner. In my opinion, NYBG and Dr. Holover are the gold standard in bariatric care.
